SPICY SPINACH CASSEROLE

2 1/2 pounds fresh spinach
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup chooped green onions
2 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cup light cream heated
1/2 cup spinach liquid
Dash hot pepper sauce
2 tbsp chopped jalapeno peppers
1 clove garlic , minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded jack cheese ( 1/2 pound)
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tbsp butter

Wash spinach and place in covered heavy pot. Cook until just wilted. Drain and squeeze liquid out and coarsely chop. ( reserve 1/2 cup liquid). Melt Butter in heavy saucepan . Saute onion. Stir in flour and cook, stirring for 2 minutes without browning. Whisk in cream and spinach liquid and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in hot pepper sauce, peppers, garlic, salt, Worc Sauce and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Fold in Spinach. Pour into greased 1/2 court casserole dish. Top with Bread crumbs and butter. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
